Fellow vintage spell slingers, as you know, K&T will no longer be able to host our monthly vintage tournaments. Since we all love to play the most broken spells in MtG, we are currently looking for ways to keep the vintage format alive. We need everyone's help to keep this going.

1.) We need a place to play, Team Ruthless dwells in the Southern part of Manila (Alabang/Las Pinas/Cavite/Paranaque). Are you willing to go down to our area for monthly tournaments? Will air-conditioning be a deciding factor for you to play? (I myself don't like to play in hot places) If we get a clubhouse in one of our villages, will this accessibility be a factor?

2.) Team Commitments, can we get the Vintage Teams to commit a certain number of players every month? Maybe 3 to 4 each team. This will be a healthy 20 to 25 player tournament if we get things going. We can also do location based tournaments. We can assign a team to host the tournament every month.

3.) Prizes. What are your preferred prizes? If we can get arrangements with a shop, then it will definitely be booster packs and singles. But if it's a restaurant, will you accept gift certificates as prize pool?

4.) Tournament time and day. Saturday or Sunday? Can you guys commit to come early and start at 10 or 11 AM? So we can finish early also.

If you have other concerns, please air them so we can work and agree on it. I think we can all come into an agreement and commit to play Vintage at least on a monthly basis.

Hope to hear from you guys.

Unfortunately, 2 nalang kaming vintage player for Rampage and tagilid ako for July and August since kabuwanan na ni missis.
Kung sakaling wala silang event for the weekend (calling JT :D)

@sgd & team Ruthles: thank your accepting the role of vintage t.o.

1.) this is the biggest problem. kahit ako gusto ko din mag organize given i have a place to hold a vintage tournament. sana sa Parañaque area para malapit kunti. para malapit din sa mga taga North (team Chopsuey).

2.) another major factor. since may sariling pamilya na ako, i can't pledge na makasali sa isang tournament in a given date. my family comes first next to vintage tournament, last na ang legacy tournament. team mates ko din puro may sariling pamilya na.. si vincent na lang ang binata sa amin hahaha :P

3.) lets adapt ching's prize payout structure. yung adjustable prize structure based on the gate entrance. para wlang lugi ang tournament organizer. but any prize will do for me para may vintage tournament lang.

4.) sunday. monday to saturday work ko eh :( kailangang kumayod para sa pamilya. ako gusto ko din mag start ng maaga. para maaga matapos.

Venue will definitely be an issue for me... I'm one of the more well traveled but doesn't know where he is sort of guy... will probably spend an hour or two getting lost. ~_~ Organized carpools among players would probably help a lot in this department, not necessarily by team, per area perhaps?? Such accessibility might even attract new blood.

A good prize structure or getting something at the end of a tourney is a bonus, might even attract Legacy players, but at our current turnout, good prizes are out of the question, hopefully when we're better established we can work on prizes. I attend despite prizes and I believe people who feel as strongly about Vintage would attend no matter the prize structure. I strongly suggest and push for: special position, awards and/or mention to unpowered decks (0 Power, 0 Shops, 0 Bazaars) or budget decks be included.

I can definitely come early!! Always have been early rofl... xD But I do know the joys of sleeping in late. ^_^

I won't go as far to say as I will be able to play every month, but I definitely will dedicate that one day above most things that might come up.

Salamat sa mga feedbacks. Yung mga ibang Vintage enthusiasts feel free to post your suggestions. Let's work things out to save this dying format we all love.

yeah i think its time to introduce a top budget deck prize. judging by what they are doing in europe, malaki ang prize ng top budget (minsan halos the same ang 1st prize) regardless kung top 8 o hindi so it can push non vintage players to try it out and play. so even if di na sila umaasa na mag champ, may mag d drive parin sa kanila to perform well.

example from the last bazaar of moxen (alam natin unrealistic pero example lang)

overall champ - full power
top unpowered - lotus
top budget - mox pearl

wachootink?

anyway, most likely pass ako pag south yung tourney. pinakamalayo ko siguro makati (sorry)

1.) We need a place to play
- Early this month napunta ako sa may Titan Libis. I guess the owners are trying to organize eternal events there, yun nga lang sa time na yun nasabay sa event ni paeng kaya mukhang di natuloy.

2.) We can assign a team to host the tournament every month.
- Ayos to, parang homecoming ang dating.

3.) Prizes
- I also agree with Vincent at syempre basta hindi luge ang organizers at reasonable ang prizes, kumporme sa entrance fee.

4.) Tournament time and day
- Sunday, dahil na rin kasi sa trabaho. Kaya nating maging maaga, onting disiplina lang talaga.

- I agree! Wala na ako maidadagdag pa. Isa pa kasing issue, bumababa yung dami natin at walang ibang players na gusto sumubok maglaro ng vintage.

My thoughts.

1. The date. I think Sunday is the best date for vintage events. We all know most of us have some priorities. Also I suggest to have it either every other month or quarterly vintage events if we have difficulties dealing it monthly. At least we can prepare ahead for the date and meta.

2. Venues. Can we ask our favorites venues like BCI Greenhills/Makati or Mike's shop or any (M4? LOL!!) to host for the venue.

3. Prizes. I have no problems with these, anything will do. Money, passes, discounts, goodies or vip cards. ;)

Jemoi, BCI is out as the overhead is too much.

1.) I'm up for a roadtrip to the South. Actually, matagal na akong naghihintay ng invite for a Vintage tourney in the south. Carpools would be highly suggested though as it is easier, conserves gas, and is a funner way of travel. Chip in na lang.

I am not picky when it comes to the playing area as long as it is cool and it is comfy. Kahit walang aircon.

2) I would be there. Rarely do I miss tournaments that I plan to attend to (basta matagal ang notice). I cannot say for my teammates though as some back out unexpectedly due to family commitments or they were just plain drunk the night before.

For organizing tournaments, I think madali naman lang as long as we have a place.

3) I would play for any prize. I believe my teammates would play for any prize as well kahit packs lang. If we would use a shop, I would understand to get products from them. But lets do that for the 3rd-8th places. For 1st and 2nd place, I believe cash would be better (like Ching's) as we are really running out of prizes to give out and sometimes it would be better for the winner. For restaurant GCs, ok naman lang din e as long as pwede pang balikan yung place.

4) Definitely Sunday. Maraming Vintage players ang nagtatrabaho ng Saturdays. At may traffic ang Saturdays hehehe. If we are going to the south, I would want to start early so we can go home early.

"Dito pa nga lang sa QC ginagabi ka na, paano pa kaya kung sa South pa?! Yang hobby mo <insert some ranting here>.....", is what she said when I told her that tournaments might now be held in the south. But I explained it to her and she understands (after 2 hours of hearing the rants siguro).

Maybe we can ask Titan for help. Baka pwede naman siguro. Since once a month naman lang din tayo and since the place looks like it has lower overhead than other shops, maybe we can cut a deal with them.
